In a country so alive with possibilities its hard for me to understand that we still resort to primal urges to resolve conflict.

For those of you who don't know what Xenophobia is, it's the latest outbreak of murders in South Africa focused on immigrants from Zimbabwe and other African countries.
It shames me to say that we are killing the people who gave us shelter and food while apartheid was at its highest point.

I love my country, as I have stated so many times, but being branded as a barbaric and ruthless person because of the country I live in, doesn't appeal to me. I will never leave, but we need someone to act. I feel like such a hypocrite, sitting comfortably in my own home, talking about needing someone to act. But for an 18 year old this is a daunting task and I wouldn't know where to begin. I'm scared of what my country has become.

I'm even more scared of what it will become if some type of change doesn't happen quickly. Next year is election time, lets hope that some of the promises being made to us, can be kept this time...
